Expressions of Interest Sought for Hosting of National Outdoor Tournaments
Based on the results of the recent ballot, the Board of Archery NZ is calling for expressions of interest from clubs to host the national outdoor tournaments – for Field and Target.
This will be the final call for clubs to host these events.
If there are no registrations of interest received by the closing date then the Board will seriously have to consider the possibility of there not being an Outdoor National Tournament (Field (2017) or Target (2018)) held, and will look to make alternative arrangements for the 2018 AGM and qualifying rounds for the Selection Policies.
National Outdoor Field Championships 2017
Field rounds will consist of a 24 target WA unmarked round and a 24 target WA marked round. The event would be finish with individual finals and mixed teams event. These may need to be done as a demonstration shoot for this first year. The Mixed teams event would consist of Mixed Teams event (1 x Compound, 1 x Recurve, 1 x Bare bow, of the same gender).All age groups are to be catered for in all disciplines.
A venue is required that is large enough for 80-100 archers and had a spectator friendly area on the course for staging the finals (individual and mixed teams) events. Ideally the event will be held Labour Weekend 2017.
National Outdoor Target Championships 2018
Target rounds will include WA 1440, 72 arrow rounds, individual matchplay, mixed team matchplay (inter-district), teams matchplay and Clout. JAMA and cross bow competitions will be included.
All age groups are to be catered for in all disciplines.
A venue is required that is large enough for 150 – 200 archers in one detail and with meeting rooms large enough to hold the AGM’s of the respective Commissions and the Archery AGM.
Ideally the event will be held in January 2018.

The results of the Outdoor Field Nationals will be combined with the Outdoor Target Nationals and will determine the Champion of Champion trophies.
Clubs which are interested in hosting either of these events should express their interest to the National Secretary at [email protected] by the end of May 2017. The Board are keen to discuss any opportunities or proposals that clubs may have.
