Special General Meeting 4th July 2023 7.30 pm Online

23 May, 2023

At the start of May, the Board of Archery NZ received the resignations of Board Chair Vincent McCartney and Board members Sai Bedekar, Hana Saemon-Beck and Lisa Holt. We would like to thank Vincent, Sai, Hana and Lisa for their contribution and efforts during their time on the Board and wish them the very best for the future.

With the intention of consolidating and stabilising the Board, remaining Board members Katherine Watson and Murray Prowse have co-opted Cushla Matheson (Archery NZ Coach Coordinator) and Graeme Robb (Christchurch Archery Club) onto the Board to assist in the interim.

At a Board meeting held on 22nd May, the Board voted to appoint Katherine and Murray to the interim positions of Chair and Deputy Chair respectively.

As you know Archery New Zealand is a voluntary organisation governed by a Board whose executive are elected from within the membership normally at our AGM however the Board can call a Special General Meeting under extraordinary circumstances.

The Board are conscious there is a need for stability and a clear plan going forward and has unanimously agreed that the way to achieve this goal is to hold a Special General Meeting with the sole purpose of electing new Board members.

It is with this goal in mind that we invite you, our membership to consider putting yourself forward and apply to become potential members of the Archery NZ Board. We are looking for full Archery NZ members who can think independently, have no agenda or bias, yet be willing to work together for the benefit of the organisation and archery as a whole in New Zealand. If you think this is you then we’d love for you to put your hand up for consideration.

The Special General Meeting will take place online on Tuesday 4th July at 7.30 pm. More details to follow regarding how to apply and the nomination process.

Many thanks

Katherine, Murray, Cushla and Graeme
