Update on International Archery Events and COVID19 - 14 March 2020

14 March, 2020

As noted in the media today, the Prime Minister has introduced a requirement for all people travelling to New Zeland from overseas to self-isloate.  This requirement excludes those travelling from the Pacific Islands and will take effect from midnight Sunday 15 March 2020.

The Prime Minister is also encouraging New Zealanders to avoid all non-essential travel overseas.

For forthcoming overseas events, the Board has decided that the most appropriate action is to withdraw all representative teams from international tournaments until further notice.

The Board and operational team are continuing to discuss the impacts for archers currently overseas and also for archers selected to compete in future overseas events.  We will communicate directly with impacted archers and their support teams as soon as possible.

As with our communication on 12 March, this decision reflects the need to prioritise the health, safety and wellbeing our our members, but also adheres to Government requirements and expectations.

The following provides more information on the decision from the NZ Government with regard to COVID19.
