The Board is pleased to announce that Trentham Camp Archery Club has agreed to once again host the Nationals 2017 in Upper Hutt.

Because it is so late in the year with such a short time frame for organising the tournament, the Board has agreed to compromise on a number of things.

Therefore, there will not be a JAMA line; there will only be rounds provided for Cadets and Juniors, along with the Masters divisions and Senior divisions. There will also not be a crossbow line.

As an alternative, the Board will be seeking a host club for a Youth Nationals to be held in 2017. This is a one-off trial and will be re-assessed by the Board next year after the conclusion of the tournament. The members will then be given the opportunity to decide whether they wish to continue with split Nationals or combined Nationals, as in the past, possibly by electronic ballot.

As it is possible that there will be some athletes seeking qualifying scores for international representation during 2017, it will be mandatory for these athletes to compete at the Nationals in January in Upper Hutt as usual. The Board would still like to encourage these athletes to compete at the Youth Nationals as well.  

UPDATED: There will be no trophies presented for Juniors and Cadets at the Nationals 2017 to be held Trentham Memorial Park in January, but there will be alternative medals awarded. 
Instead the trophies will be held over for the JAMA/Youth Championships when they are held later in the year.
But; unless the Youth National tournament has the full programme - target, clout and field, the champion of champions trophies will not be awarded at all in 2017.

Although being held over a full week, the Local Organising Committee and the Board have agreed to the following events being held; field, clout, target rounds, and individual matchplay. There will not being any teams' matchplay for 2017 but it will be back on the programme for 2018!
