Changes due to COVID-19 Restrictions on Ryan, Fraser and Hamilton Shields, and the Interclub Challenge League

2 December, 2021

Ryan/Fraser/Hamilton Inter-Club Shields

Covid Restrictions have affected a number of parts of the country through October/ November when the Ryan/Fraser/Hamilton Shields would normally be shot.  Upcoming months are expected to be busy, with clubs looking to fit in various postponed competitions.  As a result, Archery NZ has determined to extend the time period that the Ryan/Fraser/Hamilton Shields can be shot in until 31 March 2022.

Note that your club can only shoot these competitions once, though each shield can be shot on a different day, e.g. you can shoot the Hamilton on a different day to the Ryan. Also, an archer can shoot in more than one Shield team if they have suitable equipment to be eligible for that division.

For the full set of rules for the Ryan and Fraser, see the Ryan/Fraser Entry form on the ANZ Website. As for the Hamilton Shield, see the Hamilton Shield Entry Form.

Interclub Challenge

Also due to the covid restrictions, and the difficulty in getting enough fit Archers together for the Teams in restricted areas, we have a Final extension for the time to shoot the Interclub Challenge to 11:59 pm on 5th of December.

Scores for Round One must be submitted by 12 December.

As of 29 November, the updated dates for each of the rounds are as follows:

Round 1 -  1 October to 5 December

Round 2 – 6 December to 31 January (8 weeks)

Round 3 – 1 February to 28 February (1 month)

Round 4 – 1 March to 31 March (1 month)

Round 5 – 1 April to 30 April (1 month)
