Asia Cup - David Velleman

28 March, 2019

Some notes from David from his performance in the Asia Cup Stage 1 in Thailand:

I had my ranking round yesterday and shot a disappointing 571. I started quite nervously but recovered somewhat to be 297 after six ends. Then there was a 20min break and on restarting I lost my form and really struggled, shooting 274 for the second half.

I then had my first round of match play which I lost 7:1. That was worse for me as I felt I lost it rather than got beaten. I was pleased to have worked through the nerves and coped reasonably well with the heat (it was plenty hot!)

It has been a great experience and combined with the Aussie Open, I have learnt a lot which will put me in good stead going forward. Not having someone able to look at me whilst shooting is probably my biggest regret.

Thanks for all the support from home!
