Archery NZ Indoors 2018 Update

29 June, 2018

The Archery NZ board is delighted to be working with Mountain Green Archery Club for the 2018 National Indoor Championships – which will be held at The Trusts Arena, 65 – 67 Central Park Drive, Henderson on 18 and 19 August 2018.

Working in conjunction with Mountain Green are Shore Archery Club and NZ Field Archery Association who together will be providing a unique opportunity for archers in NZ to shoot both a World Archery and International Field Archery Association rounds.

Date: Saturday, August 18th to Sunday, August 19th, 2018

Address: The Trusts Arena, 65-67 Central Park Drive, Henderson, Auckland

Hosted by: Mountain Green Archery Club and Shore Archery Club

The format of this year’s National Indoor Championships will encompass both target and field archery rounds, so we encourage archers from each discipline to enter and enjoy trying a new round. The tournament has been structured to include field archers in the World Archery (WA) round, and to include target archers in the International Field Archery Association (IFAA) Standard Indoor round.

Tournament Details

The Saturday session includes both an IFAA Standard Indoor round (60 arrows) and a WA 18m round (60 arrows). Archers will shoot both rounds, and the combined result from these two rounds will determine the ranking for Matchplay on the Sunday. The Matchplay results will determine the Indoor Target Championship and medals. The IFAA round has been included in order to enable this event to be used as pre-qualification for both ANZ and IFAA archers for the IFAA World Indoor Championships in April 2019 in Wellington, NZ. It is hoped ALL archers will shoot ALL rounds to help make this event a success.Remember to join NZFAA before this event if you want to use this event as a qualification round.

Accommodation

The tournament venue is in Henderson, West Auckland. Some accommodation is available in the area. We advise you to check not only hotels but also Airbnb or similar sharing sites. Many Auckland-area archers are willing to host visitors for an evening or two. The Auckland District Archery Association website lists area clubs with contact information. The closest commercial hotel is the Quality Hotel Lincoln Green, which is supporting the tournament.

Full event and registration details will be on the Archery NZ website in the next couple of days – so start your planning!
