Additional Clauses for Tournament Regulations

The Archery NZ Board resolved at its meeting on 6 December 2018 to include the following additional clauses into the Associations Tournament Regulations in order to provide clarity in regard to the requirements for archers to be eligible for competing in Match Play rounds.

Section 1 Competition Regulations will have the following clauses added:

1.8 Qualification for Match Play Rounds

1.8.1 Where a registered tournament (including RMTs) consists of a Qualification Round (1440, 72 arrow round, 2 x 72 arrow round etc) followed by Match Play (Elimination or Round Robin) the athletes who have entered the event must compete in the qualification round in its entirety to be eligible to move through to the Match Play rounds.

1.8.2 Should an athlete not be able to continue shooting for either a medical reason or equipment failure they need to advise the Chair of Judges as soon as practicably possible. Consideration may be given, in consultation with other officials, as to whether the athlete can continue through to the Match Play rounds.

This comes into effect immediately and will be applicable to the Match Play events at the National Outdoor Tournament 2019 and all subsequent events.
