Archery NZ is seeking applications for the role of Operations Manager.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of Archery NZ, ensuring the organisation operates effectively, compliantly, and sustainably. This role supports the Board, committees, and volunteers by coordinating systems, processes, reporting, and stakeholder relationships that enable the sport to grow and thrive nationally.

This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to the Board via the Chairperson, combining operational coordination, governance support, compliance oversight, and relationship management.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting the delivery of Archery NZ’s strategic plan and Board decisions
  • Maintaining governance systems, records, and policy frameworks
  • Coordinating membership
  • Supporting budgeting, grant applications, and funding accountability
  • Maintaining relationships with Sport NZ, HPSNZ, World Archery, sponsors, and other stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and sporting regulations
  • Providing timely operational and organisational reporting to the Board

Key skills and attributes

  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement ability
  • Financial literacy and reporting capability
  • Experience with digital systems and membership databases
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with volunteers
  • A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach
  • Knowledge of New Zealand’s sporting or volunteer sector (desirable)

This is a paid part-time independent contractor role of up to 60 hours per month, with flexible remote working arrangements within New Zealand.

If you are passionate about supporting the future of archery in New Zealand and have the skills to help strengthen and grow our organisation, we would love to hear from you.

How to apply: for more information including a position description and how to apply, please email Archery NZ Admin: administration@archery.org.nz

Premier Events Coordinator

Volunteer
  • Location: applicants must be based in New Zealand

Archery NZ is looking for a Premier Events Coordinator to help deliver our national championships and premier tournaments.

This key volunteer role acts as the central link between Archery NZ, Local Organising Committees, and stakeholders to make sure our premier events are well-organised, consistent, and successful. You’ll help ensure athletes, officials, and the archery community enjoy top-quality events, while supporting the future growth of our sport.

If you have strong communication and coordination skills, and would like to contribute to the success of national events, we would love to hear from you.

How to apply: if you are interested, please email administration@archery.org.nz

Individual League Coordinator

Volunteer
  • Commitment: about 15 minutes a week to close off each week, two to three hours to set up a league and about an hour to wrap one up
  • Location: applicants must be based in New Zealand

Archery NZ is looking for a volunteer Individual League Coordinator to run the Outdoor (Summer) and Indoor (Winter) Individual Leagues.

The Individual Leagues encourage Archery NZ shooting members to shoot regularly, see themselves improve over time, and achieve results at their own club. Each league runs for 15 weeks, with archers shooting one round per week at their own club and entering their scores into ArcheryOSA.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up each league in ArcheryOSA before the season starts – event dates, the league round, divisions and score entry settings
  • Approving entries and confirming entrants are current Archery NZ members
  • Closing off each week in ArcheryOSA once scores are in, which awards the weekly handicap points
  • Answering archer and club queries about the format, scoring and handicap system
  • Communicating with entrants: a welcome message at the start of the season, reminders during it, and final standings at the end
  • Confirming the Overall and Handicapped Championship placings in each division at the end of each league, and arranging certificates

The weekly commitment is small: around 15 minutes to check and close off each week. Setting up a league takes two to three hours, and wrapping one up about an hour. Both leagues run across the year, so expect roughly four short periods of heavier work annually.

We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable week to week, comfortable with web-based systems, and able to communicate clearly with archers and clubs. Experience with ArcheryOSA is useful but not required – a full written guide is provided, and the Archery NZ ICT Manager supports the system.

How to apply: if you are interested, please email administration@archery.org.nz

  • Experience in preparing monthly management accounts for FARC and the Board
  • Experienced in the requirements of an annual audit
  • Well organised
  • Able to allocate adequate time to the maintenance, in good order, of the financial records

This voluntary role typically requires around 6 hours of time commitment per week.
