One year to Paralympic Games in Rio

Paralympics New Zealand is working towards the public launch of the Spirit of Gold™ initiative on Monday 7 September 2015.  This date officially marks International Paralympic Day and the ‘1 Year To Go’ milestone until the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

We are creating a two-part activity, as follows:

  • Media and public event at the AUT Millennium, 10am – 12pm (details to follow later this week)

  • A nationwide mufti day for schools and businesses, asking them to wear gold and give a gold coin donation

The three objectives of this day are:

1) to raise awareness and education of Paralympic Sport

2) to secure as much media and social media coverage as possible around the beginning of the Spirit of Gold™ initiative, and

3) to raise as much money as we can through the mufti day initiative to go towards our Rio 2016 campaign

PNZ will be inviting schools and businesses across New Zealand to be involved.

PNZ invites you to participate and support this initiative too and promote through your networks also.

Archery New Zealand urges everyone to get behind this programme to support our Para athletes.

Hopefully one day soon that would include Para archers.
