Paralympic Champion Archer to Shoot Nationals
Danielle Brown, the British two-time Paralympic Gold Medalist, will compete in the New Zealand National Archery Championships to be held in Whitianga from 7-10 January 2014.
Danielle was a member of the British women’s compound archery team that won gold in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India and this year again qualified for the British women’s compound team. In between at the Paralypic Games in London she held off a fierce challenge from countrywoman Mel Clark to retain the gold medal she first won in Beijing.
At the World Para-Archery Championships recently concluded in Bangkok, Danielle Brown was narrowly beaten into second place for the Women’s compound title.
There will be some 150 archers of all ages on the line with Danielle in Whitianga, with archers coming from at least 10 countries.
A recent convert to archery is financier Sir Michael Fay who will lead a team from his island home to compete for the first time.
