Team for World Championships Announced

The Board of Archery New Zealand is delighted to announce the team selected for the World Championships to be held in Antalya, Turkey beginning in late September.

Barbara Scott, women’s compound, Shaun Teasdale, men’s compound and Rob Peterson, men’s recurve, will represent New Zealand.

It is unfortunate there are not enough archers to make up a full team although Barbara and Shaun could compete in a mixed team event.

The Board congratulates the team and wishes them every success.

Congress

The World Championships management team of Carole Hicks and Anne Mitchell will also represent this country at the bi-ennial World Archery Congress, where Carole is seeking re-election to the World Archery Para-Archery Committee.

There are very few motions before Congress this year so there will be more time available for small group discussions (a process initiated by New Zealand) on a variety of significant topics like how to maximise the publicity and importance of a country’s major event, how to attract sponsors.
