Obituary - Shore Archery Club’s Life Member, John Cooze

Shore Archery Club’s Life Member John Cooze died this morning, 31 October 2012.

Those of you who were at the AGM a few weeks ago heard John relate his life in archery, particularly as a club archer.

John was a founding member of Shore Archery Club having been involved in archery since the early Auckland days. Before that and for many years he shot crossbow.  He held every position on the committee and was the person to go to for the rules and regulations on club operations and committee work; he knew our Constitution inside out.

Several members of his family have also been members of the club for years.

He was also our prime Groundsman for many years as his occupation was a lawnmowing contractor, carrying on for the club even after he retired.

Our deepest sympathies go to his wife and family.  I am sure the New Zealand Archery Community will mourn with us.

John Sivess.
Secretary SAC

Archery New Zealand wishes to convey its condolences to John's family and friends, and in particular the Shore Archery Club on the loss of this much valued member.
