Archery Approved by College Sport in Auckland

Today, College Sport Auckland have approved a proposal to run a secondary schools archery league in Term 1, 2013.  This will consist of a grading week, 5 weeks of head to head round-robin competition, and a final week of classification.  The existing Auckland inter-school match play championship event will continue to be run.

This is an exciting development which has already developed a lot of interest in the region, and will offer more students the ability to compete in archery.  We are looking for Secondary School archery coordinators in other regions to commence similar events over the coming years, with a view to developing archery at a grass-roots level in schools nationwide.  Could this be you?  Eventually, this will lead towards North and South Island Championships, and a National Secondary Schools Archery Championships.
